The ultimate high-tech restaurants around the world
By Jangaplanet
Multimedia Entertainment
In an era where technology is entering more and more into our homes and into our lives, and consumer electronic devices are touching people from all around the globe, there is a tendency to try to keep up with the pace and to adapt to its ever changing progress. The food and wine industry is an example. Over the years something has changed- in the catering sector. There is a growing market trend of resorting to technology that is convenient and modern. We started off with a simple pc monitor, but now there is another fad that is invading the technological marketplace. The "iPhone" preceded by "iPod" preceded by "iPad" and so fourth. The music player or cellular phone and Pocket PC do not behave any longer for only personal use, but from actual "stations" Pocket multimedia entertainment.
Are we becoming to dependent ?
Let's take a glimpse into the future where an "application" can change our lives.
.China
Dalu Robot Vs C3PO
The most popular waiter on the planet is called D3B0 (sounds like C3PO our favorite android from the epic movie trilogy Star Wars ) an electric powered android, but quiet and efficient. Imagine going into a restaurant, asking for a table and finding yourself in front of a team of androids ready to serve you. A technological concept! China has its first Dalu Robot. The first establishment with robotic waiters. It is equipped with six waiter-androids, two of whom are female and programmed to welcome its guests at the entrance. Two other droids serve drinks and the other robots deal with food. However, the chef and cash register employee are both made of flesh and bones.
This robotic establishment offers 21 tables and can accommodate up to 100 people and they're planning to install 40 extra machines.
A real robotic world. The concept looks more like a science fiction movie rather than an eatery.
The cost of each machine is about 6 thousand Dollars and can also go on tilt!

.New York
High Tech-Text Message-Eat With One Click
Foodparc serves as an alternative to your classic food courts. It offers a digital interaction with its customers. The design and aesthetics are futuristic and made possible by Syd Mead, the set designer of Blade Runner in collaboration with Philip Koether, the architect who designed and constructed this digital futuristic world. It offers a selection of classic burgers, sandwiches and Asian cuisine, but the difference lies in its concept.
The first thing the customer sees is not food, but a series of touchscreen displays through which the order and payments are made (which is only accepted by credit card.) The customer then receives a text message, telling them the dish is ready and can go pick it up in one of its kiosks.
This concept and technology is a phenomenon and serves for a better shopping experience.
The experience of dining touchscreen is a great idea. The fact of placing an order (which I suppose is faster and different from the usual) compensates for not speaking with staff.
.New York
The First "social fast food" dedicated to Health, Life Style, community and The iPad
4Food wants to de-junk fast food. Their message is simple: be healthy! Here's how it works:
You log onto their website and create your very own hamburger by choosing the type of bread, meat or vegetarian, vegetables and condiments, etc. Give your hamburger a catchy name and then use Twitter, Facebook or Youtube to convince your friends to buy it. The wi-fi is free. The restaurant has its grip on power as a giant screen shows the Tweets and messages on Facebook about 4Food while waiters are equipped with iPad. If it becomes a bestseller and someone orders your 4Food hamburger, you will earn money.
Let The Lunch Games Begin!
.Fuamen, Nagoya, Japan
"OPTIMUS PRIME" Ribs
Faster than a Lighting Bolt ! The two robots working at Fuamen will take 1 minute and 40 seconds to prepare a dish of ramen (noodles in broth) with a variety of foods. In reality, it's a bit disturbing to watch the mechanical arm that cooks your meal. I dare you to complain about your meal! Watch the video above.
.Hajime Robot Restaurant, Bangkok
Winning At The social networking Game
It's called Hajime, located in Bangkok, and its menu serves Thai, Japanese and Eastern dishes. In this restaurant, men are the chefs and the robots serve tables. The young business woman who came up with this idea, invested 750 thousand dollars to create its waiter-robots that move on a structure designed as a track.
They will entertain the customers with dances to the sound of oriental techno music. These motorized helpers were built and designed by Motoman, a european company that manufactures robotic arms able to simulate human movements. They also posses an LCD monitor screen instead of a face and sumurai armor. Touch screen your favourite dish and your meal will be processed. This is no science fiction movie. Resistance is futile!
.Inamo, London
Super High Tech Interactive Graphics
Touchscreen tables, refined ceiling lamps, high tech environment and super tech mood. Inamo, London (Soho district). Its design and technology both walk hand in hand.
Inamo is the direct evolution of an interactive wine bar . The idea was born in the States and then redefined. The concept then expanded and became even more pleasant by its interactive graphics. A menu that is projected directly on the table. Welcome to the new frontier of menu touch !
Nowadays having anything with touchscreen is a way of life, but what about a table?
Inamo, is the first of its kind in Europe that allows you to sort food and play games while waiting for your meal to be served. You can even watch the chef prepare your order via webcam.
The new interactive establishment offers a unique experience because it adds I-tech while dining out and, by doing so, opens new horizons from the customer's point of view. Staff are seen only when the meal is ready to be served. The system is very simple and intuitive to use, and it's not only for the younger generation who are already accustomed to their iphone and know how to use a touchscreen to scroll up and down. The touchscreen menu is simple to use; just look at the picture and a description of your choice and click. Then watch your meal being prepared live on cam.You can even choose your own setting and mood, play games on the table screen, look at maps, ebook, and call a taxi when your ready to go.
.Mundo Global Tapas, Sydney, Australia
Ipad Fever Breaks Onto The New Scene
Can an iPad replace a menu? Australia's Mundo Global Tapas in North Sydney, has decided to replace the paper printed menus with "Apple's device". With touchscreen tables - just sit down and view your menu! Choose from a selection of dishes using the iPad, your order is then sent via wireless into the kitchen. Your iPad waiter table can also suggest the best wines to accompany your dish. If you prefer your pasta al dente, or your steak medium rare, just tell the iPad waiter. A truly amazing WiFi network ! Search for wine by region, origin, the type of variety and the selection of wines by the glass, all with the touch of your finger. Once you've completed your meal, make sure to leave a comment or note explaining how your meal was. Before you leave the establishment, check out where to go next on the touch screen table or call a taxi.
Dinner In The Sky, Belgium
Socializing in the Clouds
Have you ever thought about eating amongst the clouds, high high up in the sky? Dinner in the sky offers a one of a kind experience. It's not a dream, but pure reality. Belgium originally started the project and it spread throughout the world. It's a real place in the sky. Designed by engineers and architects. Seats are nailed to the table and can take you 50 meters up from the ground by crane. It holds twenty-two customers at a time that are tied down to there chair with the same rope used for bungee jumping. The table is set in elegance, but the dishes and all the rest are made of plastic and the menu is excellent. Each table has a mini kitchen with a stove and fridge and two waiters to serve you .The experience can only happen through reservations. It's a place for socializing in the new modern era of doing things.
Underwater Establishment, Maldives
Socializing in a Tunnel Underneath the Sea
Do you want to discover a cool place where dinner tastes great while enjoying a panoramic view that's exceptional in every sense of the word? Here your meal is served underwater. Housed in a transparant tunnel located a few meters deep below the Indian Ocean. Enjoy yourself while looking at the variety of sea creatures that surround the tunnel. There is nothing high tech here other than it's design and construction which can only be accomplished with today's technology.
